Improving Official Statistics
Following the situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Zambia Statistics Agency, with the directive of the Ministry of National Development Planning and in consultation with UNECA, IAOS and ISI, has issued a decision to postpone the 2020 IAOS-ISI Conference in Zambia to a later date.
Registration is now open.
As some people incurred challenges in submitting proposals and therefore in an effort to accommodate their request, the deadline has been extended to January 21, 2021.
The draft 2019-2021 IAOS strategy was introduced at the 2019 General Assembly and discussed briefly by the incoming IAOS Executive at its first meeting. My thanks again to those members at the General Assembly who provided comments.
The International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) is pleased to invite you to attend the IAOS President Special Session “Walking through Previously Uncharted Territories: Governance, Crime and Drug Statistics” that will be held on Tuesday, 20 August 2019 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (Conference Hall 1, Level 3) from 8:50-10:40.
The DDI Alliance has announced the public release of XKOS version 1.2, a free and open specification that facilitates sharing and management of statistical classifications. This tool is used by a number of international organisations.
Following the IAOS Statutes, the 2018 Nominating Committee, in charge of selecting the candidates for posts of President-elect and four EXCO members, having one candidate for each position and taking into account a proper regional representation and gender balance as much as possible, has come up with the following list.
