The 17th International Association for Official Statistics Conference and 3rd International Statistical Institute Regional Statistics Conference will be held in Livingstone, Zambia from 4-6 April 2023. It is jointly organised by the International Association for Official Statistics, International Statistical Institute and the Zambia Statistics Agency – ZamStats. The conference aims to provide:

President’s message August 2022

IAOS would like to congratulate Dr. Erin Lundy of Statistics Canada and the other winners of the 2022 Young Statisticians Prize (YSP) competition. Our thanks to all entrants and the International Judging Panel for their efforts.

The creation of a “Krakow Group” was endorsed at the 2022 IAOS General Assembly, held in Krakow, Poland. In establishing this working group, the IAOS community aims to contribute to the burning challenges Official Statistics meet in today’s “datafied” societies.

Bill McLennan, a former head of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), who had also headed the UK Government Statistical Service (GSS), died on 19 March 2022 at the age of 80.

The 2022 IAOS General Assembly will be held at 8:00 am – 9:00 am (CET), 28 April 2022, as part of the IAOS conference “Worthy Information for Challenging Times”, taking place in Krakow, Poland, on 26-28 April 2022.

We are pleased to inform you that preparations for the 18th IAOS conference taking place on April 26-28, 2022, in Krakow, Poland, are underway.
