Dear IAOS members,
Following the resignation of IAOS President-Elect Graciela Márquez, the IAOS Executive Committee, in accordance with Statute 6.5, unanimously elected Gary Dunnet of New Zealand as the new President-Elect. Gary will serve in this capacity until the 2025 IAOS General Assembly, which will take place during the ISI WSC in October. At that time, he will assume the role of IAOS President for the 2025–2027 term.
Gary is currently the Deputy Chief Methodologist at Statistics New Zealand. He has been an elected member of the IAOS Executive Committee representing Oceania since 2021 and presently oversees the IAOS Young Statistician Prize. More information about Gary is available here.
I extend my gratitude to Gary for agreeing to take on the role of President-Elect and look forward to his continued contributions to the work of the IAOS. I would also like to thank Graciela for her invaluable contributions to the IAOS, including her efforts in hosting the 2024 conference.
