Beatrice Baribeau - Young Statistician Prize

Beatrice Baribeau is the Director General of the Modern Statistical Methods and Data Science Branch at Statistics Canada. With over 20 years of experience at Statistics Canada, she is a leader advancing modern statistical methods, rigorous data science practices and the responsible integration of AI across the agency. She also serves as Statistics Canada’s Principal Confidentiality Officer and its Principal Data Ethics, Quality, and Scientific Integrity Officer, roles through which she champions methodological excellence, sound data stewardship, and the highest standards of quality and rigor.

A champion of innovation and collaboration, Beatrice is guiding the Agency toward more agile and efficient methodologies and data science approaches that deliver value to Canadians. She also contributes to international initiatives advancing official statistics and serves as Chair of the Statistical Society of Canada’s Women in Statistics Committee.
