Federico Segui is currently Director of Coordination and International Relations Division and former Deputy Director General (2020 – 2025) of the National Statistical Institute of Uruguay. He is also NSI’s Data Steward and Chief Data Officer, and responsible for the implementation of the Data Warehouse – Integrated System of Statistical Registers and Surveys at the NSI. Federico began his career in official statistics at the NSI 30 years ago. He holds graduate degrees in Information Systems and Reengineering from ORT Uruguay University and University of Oxford and has recently specialized in data analysis and engineering. He has been a consultant for several international organizations as an expert in official statistics based on administrative registers, quality of statistics, metadata and microdata anonymization. He is also author of various publications and papers on those topics. Elected member of ISI and member of IAOS, IASI, SUE.
