Dr. Jūratė Petrauskienė has been the  Director General of Statistics Lithuania  (now known as Statistics Lithuania. State Data Agency )since November 2019. Under her leadership the new Law on statistics was initiated in Lithuania.

Jūratė has worked in Statistics Lithuania since 2004,  with a range of different responsibilities, including for different domains of statistics,  development of new methods and technologies for production of official and experimental statistics, new data sources, implementation of GSBPM and successive reorganization of processes and organisational structures.

She is a deputy Chair of the Board of the Lithuanian Statistical Union and is active internationally.  She is an active member of the European Statistical System and in 2023 was appointed a member of the European Statistical Advisory Committee (ESAC). An active member of the IAOS,  Jūratė was the Chair of the Scientific Programme of the 2024 IAOS conference in Mexico.
