The December issue of the SJIAOS 2016

The December 2016 issue of the Statistical Journal of the International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) is now available. In honor of Mr. Shigeru Kawasaki, IAOS president (2013-15), Gemma Van Halderen from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and associate editor for the SJIAOS has put together a selection of papers from the ISI World Statistics Congress in Rio de Janeiro, with the theme: "Integrating Statistical and Geospatial Information." She is also contributing with a manuscript of her own co-authored by Minchin, Scott and Brady.

We are pleased to bring you many other manuscripts with topics and issues of interest to official statistics including the winning paper of the 2015 IAOS Prize for Young Statisticians, "Big Data and Semantic Technology: A Future for Data Integration, Exploration and Visualization," by Andreas Mayer and Andrew Harwood (Australia).

To get full access to the contents in all issues of the Journal all that is needed is to join the IAOS. It is easy and inexpensive to become an individual member of the IAOS. The cost of membership is modest at EUR 25 for members from developed countries and EUR 8 for members from developing countries.
